GAME PLAY
We have certain standard games which we play.
You are however welcome to be inventive and think up some new ones.
We are quite happy to play your 'home brewed' games as long they are safe
OUR STANDARD GAMES ARE:
Flag Capture:
In this game teams start at opposing bases at either end of the field. The objective is to:
- get to the other teams base without being shot,
- Capture their flag and
- return it to your own base.
The first team to succeed WINS!. Don't forget you have to do this without being tagged (HIT!) by the 'enemy'.
Centre Flag:
This is similar to flag capture, but we start with a flag in the centre of the field, with the objective being to
get the flag and take it to your own base to win.
Ambush:
In this game, one team goes into the field to a destination of their own choosing, and sets up a base. When the game starts
the other team has to find them and capture the flag, taking it back to their own base, to win.
Zombie:
This is usually played at the end of day, and quite simply is a “shoot ‘em up!” type of game where there is no game objective.
No one is out until they run out of pellets. The winner is the last man standing! This game is hugely popular, which could prove
there are some really strange people out there.
HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU ARE OUT?
(Not as easy a question as you would imagine!)
Simply being hit by a paintball is not enough, These conditions have to apply:
- A paintball has to hit you and break
- A ball that bounces off you does not count , unless you call yourself out before you check
- You cannot call yourself out and then back in. This creates confusion and can lead to people throwing large inanimate objects at you.
- A hit above the level of the chin (head shot) does not count. Unless you call yourself out etc
- A Paintball that hits a tree and 'splatters' on you does not count.
- A shot on the gun does not count.
- So simply put any pellet that hits your body and breaks is a hit and you are out.
HOW DOES TAGGING WORK?
- When your enemy shoots you, and the ball breaks, you have been hit and you are out
- Now hold your gun and free hand above your head so the other players know that you are eliminated and don't keep shooting you.(Hopefully!)
- Call for a “tag”; which means you must be touched or “tagged” by one of your own team mates, in order for you to “come back to life”. If
someone on the other team, comes to tag you, don't stop them; it means they did not listen at the safety briefing and deserve to suffer… as
you “come alive” and “light him up”!)
- While waiting for a tag you may not give major field briefings to your team mates, you may only call for a tag…then you wait.
(Giving your team mate a run down on the opposition’s field positions while you are waiting for a tag can also result in inanimate objects
(rocks, etc…) doing their airplane imitations as they are thrown at you.
- If you are waiting for a tag and the opposition shoot you again for the fun of it, then you are also back in the game. A member of your
own team may not, however, “shoot you back to life”. (This may also cause serious loyalty questions to arise!)
PAINTBALL TERMS
- "Marker"... Your Gun
- "Mask"... Goggles
- "Redneck"... Rule breaker / regular dumba
- "Tag"... touched/shot by a friend... (erm!?... NO! NOT like that!)
- "Light 'em up"... getting lip up - shooting at - getting shot at repeatedly.
LASTLY... remember the words of an old Chinese man:
"You not have fun? It your own bruddy fault!?"
